We are pleased to announce the publication of the draft version of the Eastern Cape Umbrella Fire Protection Association’s (ECUFPA) Veldfire Management Strategy for the Eastern Cape Province.

This strategy has been drafted to be in-line with Section 5(1)(a) of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act, 101 of 1998, which reads as follows:
5. (1) A fire protection association must at least-
(a) develop and apply a veldfire management strategy for its area;
This strategy has been drafted to enable the strengthening of veldfire management in the province and to provide for a mechanism to achieve a better integrated fire management approach.
We would please like to encourage you, as an FPA and interested Stakeholder in ECUFPA, to read this strategy document and please comment on it.
