The Greater Stutterheim Fire Protection Association (GSFPA) is looking for an Assistant FPA Manager to manage the member base and the Working on Fire Team, based in Hogsback. The incumbent should be able to work independently and remotely.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
The primary duty of the manager will be to ensure the integrated fire management in the area and attend to member queries according to the National Veld and Forest Fire Act, 1998.
Additional duties:
Enforce the National Veld and Forest Fire Act, 1998.
Oversee the daily management of the Working on Fire Team based in Hogsback.
Report writing – Fire Reports and Fire Management Plans
Ensure effective communication is met between all stakeholders in the area.
Fire Management – Respond to veldfires as required and undertake prescribed burns.
