POST RETIEF FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (POST RETIEF FPA) hereby announces the publication of the draft version of their Section 5(1)(a) Veldfire Management Strategy for the registered area of the POST RETIEF FPA, which is located in the Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality, in the Amathole District.

This strategy has been drafted to be in-line with Section 5(1)(a) of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act, 101 of 1998, which reads as follows:
5. (1) A fire protection association must at least-
(a) develop and apply a veldfire management strategy for its area;
This strategy has been drafted to enable the strengthening of veldfire management in the POST RETIEF FPA area and to provide for a mechanism to achieve a better integrated fire management approach.
Any Landowners and interested Stakeholders within the POST RETIEF FPA Area are open to comment on the Veldfire Management Strategy.
